Politechnika Wrocławska

Presentation:

Politechnika Wrocławska (Wrocław University of Science and Technology, WUST) is a Polish university with long-lasting experience in the area of verification and certification of pressure vessels. Apart from the endurance hydraulic tests, which are realized according to the requirements of various RCS, Politechnika Wrocławska is strongly involved in the R&D processes of the newly developed composite pressure vessels. It is located in Wrocław in the Lower Silesia area.

Role in the project:

Politechnika Wrocławska supports the consortium on hydraulic tests of high-pressure vessels, which will verify the durability and mechanical properties of newly developed structures. Politechnika Wrocławska brings its knowledge and expertise in high-pressure tests, required by the current RCS (regulation, codes, and standards).

In close interaction with Air Liquide and Envitest, the WUST is contributing to the Road Trhyp project by assessing the durability of the newly designed type V tanks in extreme temperature conditions.

WUST completes two types of tests according to EN17339 requirements. The first one is the extreme temperature pressure cycling tests (-40°C and +65°C), and the second one is the accelerated stress rupture test. This test is designed to validate the long-term behavior of the tank (in terms of new materials, linerless design, harsh environment, etc.) under static conditions: 2000 hours at 875 bar and +65°C.
